Christmas Services

We look forward to seeing you at our 2025 Christmas services whether you are a regular worshiper at Christ Church, a regular worshiper from elsewhere and someone that enjoys attending the services during this special period.

We have a variety of additional services during December so please come along and join us in our celebrations.

30th November at 6:30pm Advent Carols Service, a candlelit service of Advent Carols and Readings

14th December at 4pm a Family Christingle followed by a party

21st December at 5:30 Nine Lessons with Carols

24th December at 4pm a Family Crib Service

24th December at 11:30pm Midnight Holy Communion

25th December 8am Christmas Day Service

25th December 10am Christmas Day Service

At our services the collections will be supporting our 3 chosen charities for the period. The charities have been nominated by members of our congregation and then 3 will be chosen representing a local, national and international charity. 

During the 2025 Christmas period we will be supporting:

  • St Michael’s Hospice
  • The Ellen MacArther Cancer Trust
  • Médecins Sans Frontières

Candlelit Christmas in Harrogate Friday 13 December at 7:30

Enchanting harmonies beneath flickering flames: A timeless celebration of Christmas with our mesmerizing candlelit concert and captivating string quartet. Set in the beautiful Christ church in Harrogate, the Ebor quartet will take you on a festive journey with classic Christmas songs, from the likes of The Pogues and George Michael to Christmas carol favourites. With vocals from the talented Alistair Griffin, treat yourself to a mulled wine and take in the magical atmosphere.

Christ Church – A Commemoration & Celebration in Remembrance and Hope

On Saturday 1 November 2025 at 3pm

Please join us for our annual memorial service to remember those who have died in the faithful love of Christ. Prayer, music, scripture and a symbolic lighting of a candle for those whom we love. 

All are welcome, whether you attend in faithful love for one who has died recently or longer ago, near to here or further afield. A private opportunity in the company of Christ’s people in prayer.

Everyone is invited to join us in church with refreshments after the service.

Christmas Fair November 2025

Save the date for our Christmas Fair.

It will be taking place on Saturday 29 November 1-3pm in the Parish Centre.

As well as raising funds, it is a fun event with:

  • Stalls selling lovely items, perfect for Christmas presents and wonderful homemade cakes
  • Father Christmas usually comes along to join the fun and give out some early Christmas gifts
  • Refreshments and festive music
  • A tombola and sweetie jarbola
  • Fun games such as guess the name, guess the weight, our 50:50 tree
  • A raffle with the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes
  • A chance to purchase from our pre-loved toys and jigsaw stalls

If you are interested in having a stall at the fair then please contact the Parish Office for details. The charge will be £20 a stall/table.

We will need lots of help to make the fair a success, so if you are able to help then please let us know. We will need volunteers on the day, donations for our raffle and tombolas, donations of baked goods and donations of good quality toys and jigsaws for our pre-loved stalls. Further detail will follow.

But most of all, we look forward to seeing you there……

Christian Aid Week 12-18 May 2025

Here at Christ Church we will be supporting Christian Aid week.
We will be handing out donations envelopes on Sunday 11 May which can be returned by Sunday 18 May.

Don’t forget the invitation to wear red for Christian Aid on Sunday 11 May and maybe make a donation for the delight of taking part.

The Annual Parishioners Meeting and The Annual Parochial Church Meeting

The Annual Parishioners Meeting (APM) and Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) will be taking place on Sunday 11 May 2025 in the Parish Centre at 11:30am.

This is an opportunity to reflect on the past year of the Church and to look to the future.  The 2024 Annual Report and Financial Statements will be considered along with the election of Church Officials for 2025.

If you are interested in being involved in the Parochial Church Council (PCC) or the wider Church community, then please either speak to one of our existing PCC members or Matthew or contact us. Nomination forms are available in the concourse.
