Parish Centre

The Parish Centre is attached to the church building and is an important part of the outreach and ministry of the Christian community at Christ Church. It is used for a wide range of activities for people of all ages. On Sundays it is the home to Junior Church, refreshments after services and learning groups for both adults and young people.

Through the week a number of external groups also use the facilities on either a regular or ad-hoc basis. The facility is ideal for small-medium groups requiring meeting and conference facilities, for activity space or for celebrations such as parties and weddings.

Room Hire

The Parish Centre is made up of a number of spaces that can be hired by external groups or celebrations/parties. The Parish Centre is light and airy with rooms of good proportions which are available for hire. The facilities include a wide range of equipment and we can offer help with various levels of catering from a cup of tea to organising a wedding reception.

There is level access throughout the Parish Centre, an induction loop and fully accessible toilet facilties. Christ Church Parish Centre offers an easy space for your meeting or event, annual dinner or celebration.

As you enter the Parish Centre complex through the large lobby you will find the airy concourse which measures 10.67m by 6.4m (35′ by 21′). The concourse can be screened off to provide a secluded meeting area on its own, or it can be part of your reception area for your event.

The main hall measures 18.29m by 10.67m (60′ x 35′) and has an approximate capacity of 200 theatre style and 100 cafe style. It is carpeted around the sides of our wooden sprung dance floor area which measures 10.97m by 7.62m (36′ x 25′). As the main hall can accommodate up to 200 people, with a full catering kitchen. It is already becoming a popular venue for wedding receptions.

The lounge measures 5.49m by 5.18m (18′ x 17′) and is ideal for small meetings with an approximate capacity of 20.

The kitchen is in the middle of the Parish Centre with doors to the concourse and lounge. The kitchen also has a large serving hatch to the main hall and a smaller hatch opening into the concourse. So catering for your needs couldn’t be simpler. We are happy to arrange all levels of catering service from various suppliers or just for you to use the kitchen yourselves, just let us know your needs. Tea and coffee are easily arranged.

Accessibility

The church is built up three steps, but we have ramped access through the (fully accessible) Parish Centre.  The access ramp to the church is through the Parish Centre main hall, and the Parish Centre has fully accessible toilet and also baby-changing  facilities.

There is an induction loop on the ground floor of the church and also in the Parish Centre. You are very welcome to organise a BSL or Makaton signer, (Harrogate Deaf Church may be a point of contact) for Baptisms, Weddings or Funerals being held at Christ Church.
